Lyralen is a pretty small girl. She’s 5’4 and only 101 lbs, which makes her pretty tiny. She hates it, because it makes her an easy target. Her style is pretty low key—she doesn’t wear make up very often, and she avoids heels at all cost. However, she does like to be in dresses and skirts as often as possible, in a wide variety of styles. One day her looks will be very punk, the next hippie chic, and then very classic. When it gets cold, she still avoids pants by wearing leggings and tights.

Liralen is a very kind, compassionate girl. She likes to help other people a lot, and likes to see people happy. She would rather worry about other people than deal with her own self-satisfaction, so she often puts other people before herself. She is people oriented, so it’s very upsetting to her when other people don’t like her, because she is loving towards everyone. Because Liralen is so afraid of confrontation, she could be mad at someone and they would never know because she would bottle it up inside. This usually results in a breakdown of her tearfully admitting how she feels in a very soft, non-blaming manner. Often, she gets pushed around, but she doesn’t really think about it much.
One of Liralen’s favorite things to do is read—she can often be found sitting in a thick tree outside, readying a fantasy novel. She has a fascination with magic and myth that started early in childhood. Her love of fantasy makes it easy for her to escape the day-today struggle of life and be completely submerged in books. When she reads, she is completely oblivious to the world around her—she doesn’t hear, see, or notice anything. She also absorbs information like a sponge—once she reads something interesting, no matter what the subject, the ideas stay in her head.
Liralen can often be pretty hard on herself; she hates messing up. She internalizes every and any insult—taking it personally and doing everything she can to fix it.

Liralen grew up in a fairly normal household. Her parents were a lot like her-very meek, but nice people. They understood as soon as she was born what that little “s” meant, and they wanted Lira to be as happy as possible, so they taught her that there was nothing wrong with being a servant. That she should be happy and respectful. So she never considered what life would be like otherwise. She never thought about what it would be like to go to college and become whatever she wanted; this way, she never felt left wanting more.
However, Lira did love school. She loved being in class, from kindergarten all the way though senior year of high school. She loved reading books in English—loved learning about the past in history. She loved watching people in the lunchroom. Because of her quiet nature, Liralen never really had many friends—a few acquaintances but that was all. She kept to herself mostly and preferred random acts of kindness to making connections. She was always scared to put herself out there, and sat back and waited for someone else to approach her. But it didn’t happen.
Now Lira is just waiting to find out who her master is. She’s a little bit scared, but a little excited too. She wants to do a good job for whoever she’s paired with, but she’s terrified that they’ll be mean, or try to make her do things she’s uncomfortable doing. Liralen is also uneasy about leaving her parents’ home; they have been her closest relationships in her life, and she’s used to relying on them constantly. They keep telling her that things will be okay, but she’s still nervous…
